Bio

A studio project

ALREADY GHOSTS is a studio project created by songwriter/ guitarist Stephen Phillips. The debut EP The Arrival was released in 2011 and was produced by Stephen Phillips and Ryan Ordway. It was mixed by Jonathan Wyman at The Halo and mastered by Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering Studios.

Hymn Of A New Dark Age

2012 saw the release of the first full length album Hymn Of A New Dark Age. The record was again produced by Stephen Phillips and Ryan Ordway and was mixed and mastered by CJ Snare of Firehouse fame.

ALREADY GHOSTS released the single The Start Of Something Beautiful in 2020 featuring Tyketto and Waysted singer Danny Vaughn and produced and engineered by John Petruzzelli at The Sound Oven Studio. Then, in 2022 they entered the studio with recording engineer Ryan Ordway and recorded the single Fight Or Fall also featuring special guest Danny Vaughn, Chris Green on lead guitar, bassist Stu Mahan, guitarist Greg Hopkins and Jeff Armstrong on drums.

In 2024, Stephen Phillips entered The Sound Oven Studio and began work on what would be the new album Leave Your Demons Behind. Again working with producer/ engineer John Petruzzelli and this time bringing in some musical heavyweights including singer Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen/ Journey/ TSO), guitarist Ron Bumblefoot Thal (Guns N' Roses), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) on keyboards, Billy Sheehan (Steve Vai/ David Lee Roth/ Mr Big) on bass and Chris Green ( Tyketto/ Furyon) on lead guitar. Also featured on the album are John Petruzzelli, Greg Smith (Rainbow/ Ted Nugent/ Billy Joel/ Alice Cooper), Danny Vaughn, Jeff Armstrong, Shaun Michaud (Fates Warning), Greg Hopkins and Stu Mahan.

Ron Bumblefoot Thal handled the mix on four of the tracks and three were mixed by Jonathan Wyman. The mastering was also split with Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios in London doing three tracks and Adam Ayan of Ayan Mastering handling four.

The Dreamers And The Light

2025 saw the release of the EP The Dreamers And The Light. A progressive rock trilogy consisting of The Pragmatist, The Alchemist and The Optimist, featuring John Petruzzelli, Jeff Armstrong, Jeff Scott Soto, Billy Sheehan, Derek Sherinian and Chris Green. Produced by Stephen Phillips and John Petruzzelli, engineered by John Petruzzelli and mixed by Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. Mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London by Andrew Walter.

In February 2026, The Abbey Road Masters compilation album is released featuring all the tracks mastered at Abbey Road Studios to date.
